Opening Prayer

Celebrant: Abba Father, in Your great providence, You chose St. Joseph to be the loving husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary and guardian of your Son Jesus, and committed this family to his care. You have thus called him to play an important role in the plan for the salvation of the human race. Grant that we may have him as our intercessor on earth, and especially at the hour of our death. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Day 1 (March 16): For families

All: O glorious St. Joseph good and faithful servant you had the privilege to live in the company of Jesus and Mary and to die in their arms. Make our families like your holy family of Nazareth. Let broken families reconcile help children to enjoy the full undivided affection of their parents. Grant that all families may strive for holiness in a spirit of charity, patience, justice and obedience. Let our families represent small domestic churches and authentic witnesses of the Gospel. Amen. 

Day 2 (March 17): For newly-weds and those preparing for marriage

All: O glorious St. Joseph good and faithful servant you had the privileged to live in the company of Jesus and Mary and to die in their arms. In today’s times marriages often end in divorce. We pray that guided by the Holy Spirit the couples contemplating marriage may be well equipped to handle marital responsibilities. We also pray for newlyweds that they be mindful of the sacredness of marriage and carry on God’s plan with serenity and commitment. Amen.

Day 3 (March 18): For religious & priestly vocations

All: Dear St. Joseph we place before you all religious clergy and all who work in the vineyard of the Lord that they may strive to pay more attention to the spiritual welfare of the people. We also pray for vocations to religious life more and more youngsters hear God’s call and embrace a life in the service of the church. As each one of us is entrusted to a mission in whatever fields we are in St. Joseph teach us to be truly dedicated to our vocation in life. Amen. 

Prayer to St. Joseph to obtain Favours

All:  St. Joseph you we raise our hearts and hands to implore your powerful intercession for graces necessary for our spiritual and temporal welfare. We now implore special favours that we seek in this Triduum. (Make your petition here) We are confident in Your intercession and in God’s mercy to hear and answer us. Amen.
