Opening Prayer

Celebrant: O Most Holy Virgin Mary, St. John Bosco had always propagated the devotion to you and deepened the reasons for the title of Mother Help of the Church and of the Christians. O Mary you are powerful and have overcome every error in the church and heresies in the world. You saved many from the attacks of satan, misfortunes and persecutions. Our present-day plight is not different now from then and has added global warming, dreadful diseases,  divisions, death of vocations to religious life, natural calamities and man-made disasters. Mary, Seat of Wisdom, illumine the minds and stir the hearts of human beings who meddle with nature that causes disasters. May we never be hasty in judgment and always be generous and not forget to be kind. Obtain for us a spirit of prayer and self-denial that we may recover by penance what we have lost by sin.

Day 1

All: O Mary Queen of the Apostles take under your powerful protection the Pope, bishops, priests, nuns, laity, missionaries, Salesian community and all who work in the vineyard. Obtain for them the spirit of union, of perfect obedience, of fervent zeal for the greater glory of God and the salvation of souls. 

Day 2

All: O Mother Mary you know how often our souls are not the sanctuary of your Son Jesus who hates iniquity. Obtain for us then that purity of heart which will attach us to God alone so that our every thought, word and deed may tend to His greater glory and that there may be just one flock under one Shepherd.

Day 3

All: Most Loving Virgin, how sweet it is to come to Your feet imploring Your unceasing help for all our parishioners, youth, families, friends, neighbours, the weak, the sick, the widows, the orphans and the oppressed. Also inspire the political leaders and all in authority that they be faithful to their vocations. You are our Mother and Teacher; show us how to imitate your virtues, especially Your union with God, purity, humility, simplicity, goodness and total self giving for others.

Prayer

Celebrant: O Almighty and Merciful God, you have constituted the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church and powerful “Help of Christians”. Graciously grant that, strengthened by her aid and striving onwards in life, we maybe victorious over the wicked one in the hour of our death and be worthy during the second coming of Jesus. We make all these prayers through Christ our Lord Amen.

All: We fly to your patronage O Holy Mother of God, despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers O glorious and Blessed Virgin Mary.
