We all need good health to function at our optimum best. And the key to good health is exercise. While we all know that we should exercise regularly to keep good health, we somehow tend to ignore it in order to cater to seemingly ‘more important’ things like office deadlines, house chores and numerous responsibilities that leave us with no time for exercise. Seldom do we realise that exercising daily will only help us to carry out our work more efficiently. So here are FIVE reasons why you should exercise daily.
1. Increased Energy
Do you feel out of energy, sometimes even in the early hours of morning? Exercise will help you increase the level of energy in your body because when you exercise you are increasing the level of oxygen in the body that gives an energy kick to the body.
2. Better Memory and Learning
Having trouble learning and memorizing? Exercise could come to your rescue. As oxygen level increases in the brain, it assists that part of the brain (hippocampus) that controls memory and learning. So, if your memory is letting you down and learning isn’t as easy as it seems, you might just need to add exercise to your routine.
3. Stronger Immune System
The COVID pandemic has clearly taught us the importance of a strong immune system. Exercise ensures that the cells that fight bacteria and viruses receive increased oxygen and nutrient. Thus, giving our immune system a boost!
4. Quality Sleep
A good night’s sleep is absolutely essential for the body to recharge itself. Good sleep also boosts our immune system, aids memory and alertness and reduces stress! When we exercise or engage in any physical activity, we feel tired at the end of the day and so are more likely to get a good night’s sleep! For those struggling to get a good night’s sleep, exercising regularly could just make the difference.
5. Reduces Stress
Exercise stimulates the release of endorphins that are responsible for relaxing the mind. This helps in coping with frustration and depression as exercise and physical activity gives us a sense of accomplishment, and provides the much needed “me time”.
So what’s stopping you from becoming a better version of yourself. Just commit to 10 minutes of exercise daily and build momentum as you progress. Let’s commit to LIVE HEALTHY, LIVE HOLY and LIVE HAPPY!
